To help you know what to expect during a cat's adult and senior life, we asked Dr Jim Gibbs:
1. What nutrients are necessary for adult and senior cats and why?
Protein: Protein is a fundamental biological building block. Cats are carnivores, so compared to plant proteins, meat proteins are more suitable for their digestive systems. Our goat milk powder is rich in animal proteins, which are essential for the growth of cats.
Calcium: Like humans, calcium deficiency in cats can cause joint disease, osteoporosis, and tooth loss, leading to loss of vitality and even pain. The right amount of calcium can effectively reduce these problems. Therefore, PetNZC added calcium for adult and senior cats.
Taurine and L-Lysine: Amino acids are the essential substances that make up proteins. Among the types of amino acids that cats need, taurine and lysine are essential. A lack of taurine can lead to developmental delays, digestive and heart diseases and even blindness. Lysine plays a vital role in the health of the brain, liver and gallbladder of adult and elderly cats. It promotes the cats' metabolism and is an essential amino acid that the cats themselves cannot synthesize. PetNZC Goat Milk Powder for Cats is specially formulated with taurine and lysine to ensure the healthy ageing of cats.
Collagen: Collagen plays a critical role in the organs and tissues of adult and elderly cats. As we all know, collagen can promote the health of hair, skin, and nails. In addition, collagen is also a vital tissue part of cartilage and synovial fluid. If cats lack collagen, they will have joint problems and lose vitality. PetNZC added collagen ingredients for adult and senior cats to fully protect the health of their organs and tissues.
Minerals: Iron is significant for the proper functioning of adult and middle-aged cats. Zinc can strengthen the cats' immune system and improve their fur and skin. Selenium is an antioxidant that helps prevent oxidation from causing various symptoms. PetNZC specially added calcium, iron, zinc, selenium and other minerals to ensure the healthy growth of cats.
2. What are our breakthroughs?
Many cats are lactose intolerant. Compared with milk powder with higher lactose content, goat milk powder has natural A2 protein and smaller fat globule molecules. Goat milk is more nutritious, easier to digest and absorb, and less likely to cause lactose intolerance in cats. Therefore, PetNZC uses goat milk powder. Goat milk is the most natural animal milk for cats.
We also added colostrum. Colostrum contains precious immunoglobulins and growth factors, which can effectively improve pets' immunity.
